As a Chicago native, I was honored to speak at SocialRock Conference, sharing some of my learnings with entrepreneurs and small business owners in Rockford, IL.
SocialRock Conference is the most tactical content-rich single-day social media conference in the Midwest, dedicated to small and local business owners. Hosted by Buy Winnebago Local, In May of 2019, I had the chance to share a stage with a phenomenal line-up of speakers, including: international best selling author and keynote speaker, Jeff Goins, Tintero Creative founder Valerie Morris, Founder of Needle’s Eye Media, and the “DO WELL & DO GOOD “ podcast Dorothy Illson, and Brand Strategist & host of the #1 ranked podcast on personal branding on iTunes, Mike Kim.
It was a fantastic opportunity to not only share some strategic advice on influencer and social media marketing. But the real joy was providing actionable insights for local business owners, marketers, and entrepreneurs to improve their knowledge of today’s social media platforms. Just ask these conference attendees.
Rippleshot White Paper: “Emerging Technology: The Payments Fraud Ecosystem to Come”
Shortly after graduating college, I joined Rippleshot, a FinTech startup working on global issue (data breaches and credit card fraud), as their first hire.
One of my proudest moments as a marketer but also as a storyteller came from co-authoring a white paper with Rippleshot’s Co-Founder and Chief Scientist Randall Cox.
Together, we published “Emerging Technology: The Payments Fraud Ecosystem to Come,” in additional to the weekly content I was creating on the Rippleshot blog.
We discussed how several emerging technologies at the time, such as Apple Pay, 3-D Secure and EMV were heralded as complete solutions to a growing data breach problem.
It was a great opportunity to educate not only consumers but also the financial institutions that we served. This white paper covered these emerging technologies, the significant limitations facing each, and what we believed to be the best defense against data breaches moving forward
